God waits to be Gracious to YOU
Scripture Text Isaiah 30:18 “ Therefore, the Lord waits to be gracious to you…”
“How marvelous it is that God should wait upon men!”
Our God desires to show His loving kindness and favor to all His creatures. He longs and delights to bless us despite our failures and shortcomings.
He has a specific purpose and plan concerning every one of His children to reveal in them His love and power. He waits with all the longings of a father’s heart. He waits that He may be gracious unto you. And, each time you come to His throne of grace and look up you can see a gracious father waiting to meet you.
In the parable of the Prodigal Son, the father (who is typical of our Heavenly Father) we can see His heart of love towards undeserving sinners.
Luke 15:20 says So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
Though the son rebelled against him the father was so gracious and gave the best robe and put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. The gracious father was earnestly, expectantly, looking and longing for that day.
God does the same thing to us even though our lives are filled with shame, dirt, filth, sin and rebellion . He forgives us and provides everything for us because we are His dear children. He does this even though we don’t recognize or deserve it.
God is gracious all the time, even when we are disobedient to Him. It is His character to be gracious.
James 1:17 “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows”.
