Even In The Valley God is Good
Scripture Text: “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalms 23 :4
Life’s not always going to be green pastures and still waters; there will also be dark valleys. Every time we go through these valley experiences we tend to wonder why God allows us to go through them.
When going through the valley it is dark and we can’t see where we are going and we struggle with fear. However, the good news is the valley is just a temporary place and the shepherd who with us in the valley will guide and protect us and lead us to a better high place.
David tells us that even in the valley he did not fear any evil. The shadow appears only where there is light. God is our light. The light of God keeps shining upon us. Nobody is afraid of a shadow. A shadow cannot stop a man’s pathway even for a second.
We should be confident like David, though I walk through trials, temptations, dangers as deep as a valley none of these things is going to endanger me. He is Immanuel -God with us. This is the joy we have. He is the true shepherd who laid down His life for the sheep.
His rod and staff will comfort the sheep. His rod is to rule and guide us and with the staff the shepherd drives away wolves that would scatter or worry the sheep.
Valleys come to the rich , the poor , the young the old to men and women and to everyone. Life is full of ups and down and we all experience mountain top and also valley.
When we are in the valley people will judge us and criticize us. Do not be afraid for God Himself will walk with us and deliver us from evil.
Why should we (His sheep) be going through a valley ?
- To get us to some better place
- To show us His presence in the midst of problem
Never get discouraged and think that God is unable or unwilling to help you out.
Let us be fearless in the face of adversity. Let His presence and protection be with you forever.
Do you have a burden too big to bear?
Take your burden to the Lord. Cast all your concerns on Him, for He cares for you. After all, He is still God, even in the valley!
Be Blessed & Be Encouraged
