By Strength No Man Shall Prevail

By Strength No Man Shall Prevail

Scripture Text : He will guard the feet of His saints, But the wicked shall be silent in darkness. For by strength no man shall prevail. 2 Samuel 2 :9 Nkjv

The above scripture is a powerful verse found in the Prayer of Hannah.

Goliath was a very strong and mighty warrior. He relied on his own strength and hurled curses on the Israel people for forty days. David was unafraid and said to Goliath, “It is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.” 1 Samuel 17 :47

David was depending on God’s strength. David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone. David used Goliath’s own sword to cut off the giant’s head.

This Old Testament story is a great reminder to us that, “For by strength no man shall prevail”

Pharaoh and his mighty army pursued the Isralites. The Israelites had no weapons in their hands. Moses had only a rod in his hand. The Isralites crossed the Red sea as on dry land and when Moses stretched his hand the water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen. Not one of them survived and Pharaoh and his army drowned in the sea. Again God proved, “ For by strength no man shall prevail.”

Psalms 33:16 says, No king is saved by the multitude of an army; A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.

Peninnah “mocked” the barren Hannah. She was looking for a fight, but  Hannah took her fight to the Lord. Hannah was annoyed and deeply hurt and this made her to pray even harder to God to give her children. Thanks to Peninnah, Hannah’s prayer was answered, and she gave birth to Samuel the greatest prophet.

When people mock at your inability don’t fight back, take it to the Lord in prayer. Your opponent may be physically, financially or verbally strong against you. Don’t be afraid, “For by strength no man shall prevail.”

Zechariah 4:6 says, Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.

Dear Friends,

Depending on one’s own strength, intellect and power will result in failure. God gives strength to the weak. If you are trusting on your own strength you are deceiving yourself.

When you trust God and His strength your journey will become easier. You can scale great heights by His strength.

May God give you the strength to prevail in all circumstances of your life.

God bless You !
