Listen To God And Dwell Safely
Scripture text: But whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease without fear of harm. Proverbs 1: 33
The above scripture is an awesome promise to everyone who live in obedience to God and His word.
Amidst all the outward circumstances you can live at ease without any fear.
Noah listened to God. All people of the world chose to sin and not listen to God. God told Noah, He was going to destroy every people on earth because they did not pay attention to His words.
God also had a rescue plan to those who listened to Him. He told Noah to build an ark. He told him to bring food for his family and the animals. Noah preached God’s truth to the people for 120 years. Yet, they did not listen.
Noah listened and followed every instruction God gave him. All the people were drowned but Noah and his family were saved.
In 1 Samuel 23: 14 we read, Day after day Saul searched and hunted for David but God did not give David into his hands.
David was a man who always inquired God, what to do and where to go. David clearly followed God’s instructions. Saul made several attempts to kill David.
Since David listened to God’s ways and waited on God’s time, God did not give David into Saul’s hands.
King Nebuchadnezzar was rich and successful. He heard Daniel’s warning but rejected it and punishment came upon him and he wandered as a beast for seven years.
Proverbs 1 : 29 -32 says,
Since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord,
Since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke,
they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.
For the waywardness of the simple will kill them,
and the complacency of fools will destroy them.
Are we listening to God? This is a very serious question.
When you listen (hear or pay attention) to God, you will experience Heavenly peace in your life. When calamity strikes, He will protect you. You can live boldly and confidently unafraid of the outward circumstances.
Listen to God, He will be you anchor, your shelter, your strong tower to which you could run and find refuge.
You will dwell securely and shall be quiet from the fear of evil.
God bless you. Have A Blessed Day!
