The Greater The Affliction, Greater The Blessing
Scripture Text: But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so, the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites. Exodus 1 :12
A new king who had not known Joseph came to power in Egypt. When the Israelite people entered Egypt they were only about 70 people. They started to greatly multiply and became more powerful than the Egyptians. The king was alarmed by their growth and decided to deal with them harshly.
The king ordered to make the lives of the Israel people bitter with hard labor. The Egyptian king assumed dealing with the Israelites harshly will stop their growth.
Nevertheless, we find in verse 12, “The more they oppressed them the more they multiplied.”
The Egyptians were so afraid seeing their growth. So, they gave them even harder labor in brick making and working in the fields.
No matter how hard the Egyptians tried to pull God’s people down they failed in all their attempts. They had no control over the lives of God’s children. Regardless of the harsh and cruel circumstances the Israel people were growing and multiplying.
We witness the extreme cruelty of the Egyptian king and God’s mercy on His children.
Psalms 105:24 says, And the lord made His people very fruitful and made them stronger than their foes.
At times of oppression we feel God is silent but He is at work behind the scenes. Everything that happens in our life is a part of His plan.
When you face a difficult time in your life know God is in control of the situation. When God’s eyes are upon you, all the attempts of the devil to stop your blessing and growth will never succeed.
- Remain faithful in the midst of affliction and bitter circumstances.
- God has a unique blessing in store for you.
You may be facing oppression, abuse and pain from a variety of sources. One of the greatest discouragements you face in such circumstances is the feeling that God isn’t doing anything about your problem. Never doubt His goodness, His faithfulness and His care.
Don’t be disheartened. The oppression and difficulty you are facing now cannot stop your growth and blessing. The tactics of the devil are vain and fruitless against God.
Yes, dear brothers and sisters the more the oppression the more God is going to bless you.
May all the devil’s strategy to break your spirit and stop your growth be defeated in Jesus name! Amen.
God Bless You.
