The Joy Of The Lord Is My Strength

The Joy of the Lord is my strength

Scripture text: Nehemiah 8:10 “Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

Is the joy of the Lord your strength today?

We face many hardships in our personal/ family life. Our life is full of ups and downs and good times and bad times. We may face financial stress and as a human our strength is limited.

The Lord’s strength is unlimited. He is the same Yesterday, today and forever. Lord’s strength is perfect and complete.

The Prophet Habakkuk says in Habakkuk 3:17-18 - Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

What would we do if, like Job in the Bible, we lost it all? Job said “The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the Name of the Lord be praised” (Job 1: 21 b).

Our Lord is great, and He can give His people the strength to compensate for any lack they’re feeling.

Satan strives to snatch peace and joy from our souls. He works hard to discourage us. The joy of the Lord is something we can enjoy in spite of our circumstances.

Apostle Paul wrote the letter to the Philippians from a prison in Rome. In Philippians 4:4 Paul says "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

Paul and Silas were put in prison. They were in a joyless situation. Yet at midnight they sang songs of praises to God.

You can experience the joy of the Lord in every season by keeping your eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of your faith.

Don’t allow circumstances to rob you of your joy. Jesus has set us free from condemnation and shame. We are called to live in the joy of the Lord.

Don’t forget to read the Bible. Don’t forget to PRAY. Count your blessings and thank God.

May your hearts be filled with the joy of the Lord today.
